Worldwide, 138 million children are engaged in child labour.

54 million of those are in hazardous work, trapped in slavery like conditions that endangers their lives. Without urgent actions, the ongoing crisis is likely to push millions more children into child labour.

What We Do

The Global March Against Child Labour is a worldwide network committed to eliminating child labour by addressing the systemic injustices and root causes that keep children trapped in exploitation. We go beyond rescue—we work to prevent child labour before it begins by strengthening education systems, improving family livelihoods, and holding governments and corporations accountable. Through community action, policy advocacy, and international cooperation, we aim to build a world where every child can learn, play, and thrive—not work. Aligned with the UN’s Target 8.7, our collective efforts focus on dismantling socio-economic barriers, reducing vulnerabilities, and driving global momentum to end child labour in all its forms.

Addressing household poverty and informal work conditions that push children into the labour force, while advocating for social protection and decent work for adults

Reclaiming Public Education:

Strengthening access to free, quality, and inclusive public education-recognising it as a non-negotiable pillar in the fight against child labour.

Advocacy and Building Collective Power:

Deepening cross-sectoral collaboration among civil society organisations and trade unions to influence policy and amplify the voices of affected communities.

Regional Cooperation and Corporate Accountbility

Enhancing international coordination, especially in supply chains, and ensuring that businesses uphold child rights through due diligence and sustainability standards.

Our programmatic and advocacy efforts are designed to address the multifaceted issue of child labour on a global scale, with particular emphasis on regions such as Africa, Asia, and Central America, employing a comprehensive Area-based Approach (ABA). We recognise that simply rescuing children from exploitative labour practices is insufficient; therefore, our approach is centered on enhancing livelihood opportunities, fostering economic growth, advocating for social protection measures, and facilitating the systematic reintegration of children into formal education systems to successfully eradicate child labour.
